The Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022 and is ongoing.
The Institute for Problems in Cryobiology and Cryomedicine (IPCC), National Academy of Sciences, Ukraine, is located in Kharkiv near the Ukrainian-Russian border.
Prof. Oleksander Petrenko, head of IPCC, is appreciative of all donations our network of international cryobiology colleagues can provide, to assist in retaining functionality of IPCC’s buildings and equipment.
Last year the Society for Cryobiology was able to send IPCC $3,800 which was fundraised during CRYO2023. IPCC used these funds to purchase electricity inverters to protect critical infrastructure, however they require additional financial support to safeguard equipment against power outages.
