I (Fritz Kleinhans) began spending time in Peter's lab in ~ 1994.  These pictures are from my personal collection; some taken by me, some by others.  They are in reasonable chronological order.  The coverage is hit-and-miss :)

(Left) ~ 1997 Peter had a green Ford station wagon.  It might have looked something like this;
only much more worn.  As I recollect, this is the car he used to give driving lessons to Igor
Katkov to earn his US drivers license.  Sara Jo called the car Mr. Clean; facetiously.
Fortunately, no pictures of the inside remain :)

In 1998, ORNL closed Peter's research building and retired him; no matter that he still had active funding and was only 70.  So we all moved to the
University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK).  This lab, the Dutchtown Road Lab, was a satellite facility half way between Oak Ridge and Knoxville.
It had about 5 or so biology related research groups.  In ~ 2009, UTK closed this lab and we all moved to the main campus in Knoxville;
first to Hesler Biology and then to Senter Hall. As you all know, work is done when the cells are ready.  This was a Saturday in 2004.
We wore our 'street' clothes this day!

In 2008 Peter and I visited Serean Adams for two weeks at the Cawthron Institute in Nelson (South Island), New Zealand.  Aqua culture is very important to the NZ economy and the Cawthron Institute does significant research in support of this aquaculture.  The pictures below (except for the last) were taken at the Cawthron Research Station right on the ocean (cool!).

UTK - Hesler Biology Building, 2012:  We usually made instant vanilla ice cream when young cryobiologists came to visit the lab.

The last lab; smaller but brand new!  Senter Hall, UTK.  Estefania Paredes was Peter's last post-doc.
The University of Tennessee was able to keep the lab open till the end of 2016, allowing her to
complete a full two year post-doc.
