SYNOPSIS
With the COVID vaccine distribution underway, health agencies across the world are quickly having to navigate how to safely and effectively produce, distribute, store and manage these vaccines. A big part of this conversation revolves around the science at ultra-low temperatures and the requirement for ultra-low temperature freezers that keep vaccines within an acceptable temperature range before use. If the vaccines are exposed to temperatures outside their acceptable range, potency is compromised. Therefore management of vaccine distribution needs to take into account the cold-chain logistics aspects, in addition to a number of existing, considerable challenges.
Thanks to the insightful contributions of the speakers, this webinar presents an opportunity to the global cryobiology and biobanking communities to support each other through the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and lessons learned. This webinar is a key step along the pathway to identifying gaps and potential solutions that will take research and infrastructures to the next level.
This webinar is presented by the Society for Cryobiology and International Society for Biological and Environmental Repsositories (ISBER). Registration is free.
